Services we offer include, but are not limited to:

Routine Dental Cleaning

We recommend that every patient come in for a dental cleaning at regular intervals prescribed by Dr. Bates. During the cleaning, our dental hygienists will remove plaque and tarter buildup from your teeth and evaluate the health of your gums. Our team will educate you on how to keep your teeth and gums clean between appointments so you can have the healthy mouth you deserve. Additional treatment may be necessary when gum disease is present.

Oral Cancer Screening

A visual oral cancer screening is performed at every periodic exam by Dr. Bates. Oral cancer cases are rising, and currently 70% of all oral cancer is found in the late stages. Early detection of oral cancer is vital for survival. The VELscope® is a state of the art system that helps detect precancerous lesions before they can be seen in the mouth. Because we take this seriously, Dr. Bates will examine your oral soft tissues with the VELscope® once per year, and more often if you have certain risk factors.

Sealants are a very efficient and successful method for preventing decay on the biting surfaces of teeth. They are primarily placed on the permanent molars as they erupt in a child's mouth. The sealants are maintained throughout childhood and can last into adulthood. Sealants are a flowable resin that is applied to the deep pits and fissures of teeth protecting them from harmful acids and plaque buildup commonly found in the mouth. The application of sealants is a simple procedure requiring only a short visit at our office. Sealants have proven so effective at preventing decay in children, we are now offering this service to all our patients. Some insurers are now including them as a covered benefit for adults.

Dental Veneers in Woodinville, WA

Veneers are a thin porcelain or ceramic restoration that is applied and bonded to the front of your existing tooth with minimal preparation to the tooth. Veneers are an excellent choice for correction gaps between teeth, crooked or misaligned teeth, or discoloration. Most veneers can be made here in our office in one appointment.

Tooth colored fillings, also known as composites, have improved in recent years with better strength, color and stability. Tooth colored fillings have become very popular for their natural looking appearance.

Silver fillings, also known as amalgams, remain a good quality material and are often less expensive than composite fillings.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns are necessary when a tooth is broken, or has large decay and cannot be restored with a filling. Most teeth that have had endodontic treatment (root canal) require a crown. Crowns cover the tooth and restore its function, strength and esthetics. Dr. Bates makes an all ceramic crown (CEREC©) in our office that is bonded to the tooth. This means your crown is complete in one appointment.

Bridges can be utilized when tooth loss occurs. The loss of the tooth can create greater problems for your dental health if it is not corrected. The teeth next to the missing tooth (or teeth) can begin to move and result in pain, discomfort, and look unsightly. With bridges, Dr. Bates will close any gaps in your mouth. The bridge looks and acts just like natural teeth, and helps to maintain the position of the rest of your teeth.
